Title: Feedback on Scrapbook about circadian clocks
Post by: thedoc on 29/04/2012 11:25:02
Bonnie Dixon  asked the Naked Scientists:

Nice video, but it didn't mention the fastest way to reset the circadian rhythm, by fasting for 16 hours and then eating breakfast:

This works because the circadian rhythm is only set by light in well fed animals. In a hungry animal, the timing of food availability is a more important zeitgeber (time cue). And the food-entrainable clock in our brains can be reset a lot faster than the light-entrainable clock.

What do you think?
