It may also be worth considering a tripod of some kind to keep the camera steady. In macro mode even the smallest judder can put the photo out of focus.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with digital cameras, who would know what to look for in a camera that was to be used to take close-up pictures of small objects, whose primary venue of display will be on the Internet? (Large glossy printed enlargements are not envisioned). I do not want to spend more money than necessary, but also would not want anything which was not able to deliver as good a picture as you can get on a typical good color CRT in today's Internet environment. Also, there are so many different kinds of memory cards. High speed is not essential but I don't want something which will become obsolete too quickly.
Yes I do recall you told me you prefer old fashion camera! I was not thinking was I?
