Very little extracted fossil methane is vented nowadays - it is far too valuable, so is sold as fuel and released as carbon dioxide and water. There is an increasing amount of methane from ruminant livestock and sewage, plus releases from drained bogs.

Animals balance out, there are far fewer wildebeest, deer elk bison etc. Plus what doesn't get eaten decays anywhoo. Much methane is wasted according to reputable sources and a great ammount is vented in flairs at oil rigs.

SideNote -

Another possible solution to curb the crises might be introducing Euthanasia all over the World.

Obviously Not forced, completely Voluntary.
✌️

Ps - if it has to End, then why not have a chance to end it with Dignity!

Animals balance out,
so if we increase the number of animals indefinitely, the grass grows longer in response? Why, then, do they bother to migrate? Has 200,000,000 years of evolution taught them nothing? Why are the fields bare round here where they have harvested the crops?

the Irish elk don't seem to migrate anymore, the great auk too is less active.
