This has been a great week for astronomy with the successfull launch of Planck and Hershel and at last the much delayed and near cancelled refurbishment of Hubble is underway.
To launch both Planck and Hershel on the one Ariane rocket that does not have a 100% record was considered a gamble but it paid off.
