When will nuclear fusion be available as a viable source of energy? It has so many advantages over nuclear fission that it will vastly improve our energy source. It produces 2 or 3 times the amount of energy and has little or no radiation to dispose of. Is anyone familiar with how laser is used in the process of producing nuclear fusion? Is anyone familiar with how magnetism is related to nuclear fusion? Thanks for comments. Joe L. Ogan

In twenty five years. (NB. It has been twenty five years away for the last fifty.

Is anyone familiar with how laser is used in the process of producing nuclear fusion?
Lasers are used to compress a shell of Deuterium and Tritium fuel to very high density. A very high power laser is then focused into the dense DT fuel, raising it to fusion temperatures (~100 million degrees Celsius)
