Title: Should Pascal Soriot be knighted?
Post by: NeilT on 08/04/2021 16:26:44
I think he qualifies as an Australian citizen where our honors system still applies - at least until they declare themselves a Republic. There are still the issues over blood clots and I'm not sure if they fall within statistical limits or not - someone might help me out. I can't believe the EU's muddle over vaccines, over 60s - under 60s ?? And France can't come up with a vaccine of their own. Louis Pasteur must be turning in his grave.
Regards

The way I read it, Pascal Soriot was born in France in 1959.
- No self-respecting Frenchman would accept praise from an English(wo)man.

On what basis do you suggest that he should be recognized by a knighthood, dukedom or other honour?
- He is CEO of a company; surely this is recognition for an executive?

Yes  he should, purely to protect him from the barrage of abuse and pressure.
