Title: Barcode scanner protocol?
Post by: RyanGuyardo on 08/10/2011 09:25:07
Barcode scanners today are usually made universal by having an RJ-45 modular connector as its universal output, and this output allows PS/2 and AT, RS232 and USB cables to interchange with, like what is shown on this page http://www.barcodesinc.com/support/connections.htm (http://www.barcodesinc.com/support/connections.htm). I'm sure there are circuits to change the protocol from RJ-45 port, so my question is, what is the signal protocol at RJ-45?

I'm currently having a barcode scanner with PS/2 and AT cable, I'm trying to change it to RS232 and I need help on this. Is it easier to change from PS/2 to RS232 or from RJ-45 to RS232?
