Title: An Astrophysics Theory Opinions
Post by: Astrophys14 on 25/11/2015 03:16:47
Meads Theory
The infinite universe is only one of many similar infinite universes. These universes are all housed inside one also infinite “multiverse”. Think of it as an infinite stack of papers, each paper infinite in size. This is the “true” universe. The science of parallel universes is unknown exactly, however it is thought that each universe may have similar or opposite qualities. Transport among each “layer” in the multiverse may also be possible. A black hole, caused by a supernova, may perhaps be a “rupture” in a layer. Black holes have a massive gravitational force, to the point of light having not enough velocity to escape. A black hole may be a “rupture” or “break” where we can access the infinite space outside of each “layer”. Since space is not a perfect vacuum, the space outside of each “layer” may, in fact, be a perfect vacuum. This being a perfect vacuum would cause very similar effects as gravity. Creating a black hole with a supernova is similar to ripping a hole in one of the papers of our stack. It can cause an object to “fall out” of a layer and potentially land onto another. The space outside of each layer is void of all matter, with the only thing in existence is electromagnetic presence, dark energy, and many other forms of energy. This energy could potentially break down the particles of an object as well, and transport them at immense rapidity to another part of the “layer”, thus causing wormhole-like transportation. Let the opinions and hate comments roll in.

I am certainly not going to pour hate, or even scorn on you. I'm not even going to offer an opinion. I'll just offer some observations and perhaps a question, or two.

First, the traditional observation: what you have presented is not a theory. In science, a theory is a cohesive body of observation, analysis, experimentation and explanation, that clarifies and accounts for a phenomenon. Is it, perhaps, a hypothesis? Not really. A hypothesis is a proposed explanation for a phenomenon. It would be presented with more precision and clarity than you have done here. Arguably, it is a speculation.

Speculations are valuable things in science, often the starting points of important concepts that may grow to become theories.

Secondly, You have made a series of assertions, but have provided zero evidence to support these. That is of limited value (approaching zero) in science. How would you go about testing any of these assertions? If you can suggest an experiment then your speculation moves towards the status of hypothesis.

Thirdly, I challenge you on this statement: "This is the “true” universe. The science of parallel universes is unknown exactly, however it is thought that each universe may have similar or opposite qualities." Who claims the part in italics? I won't be satisfied with a response that you saw it on a documentary. I should like a reference to a main stream, peer reviewed, scientific journal.

Fourthly, you cannot just make stuff up, as you appear to be doing here: "This being a perfect vacuum would cause very similar effects as gravity." Rather than make a doomed effort to try to justify this I would prefer you just conceded it is nonsense.

There are half a dozen further points I could make, but that is enough to be going on with. I shall await your response.

Damn! Despite my best intentions I feel compelled to offer an opinion as well. Loose speculation, while generally quite unscientific in method and result, is much closer to science than sitting on ones butt accepting the world as it is portrayed on the Discovery channel. Good first step.

This should be in the "new theories" board. It will move there in 24h.

Hi Astrophys, welcome.

I'm pushed for time as usual, but as the "local infinity crackpot" I shall have to ask a few questions about your infinite universes within an infinite multiverse.  I'm fascinated by new concepts of infinity.  See you in New Theories.

This is much like Cantor’s infinities.  There is an infinite number of them; like your universes.  However, Cantor established that there could be no overarching infinity.  He coined the phrase “absolute infinity”, but at the same time showed it could not exist.  Would the same apply to your infinite multiverse?
