Will cold foods make a cold (viral infection) come back?

Hello,

I love the show.  I started listening in Canada and my job has since taken my to Panama, where I am continuing to listen to your podcasts.

My question is regarding an argument I am having with my wife all the time regarding giving Cold drinks or Ice Cream to my kids when they have a cold or are coming off a cold.

I believe that colds are caused by Germs and giving an ice cream to a child will not cause them to get a cold or cause the cold to come back.  She disagrees and so does her old Russian Grandmother which is the source of this advice.

Who is correct?

Thank you / Gracias

What do you think?

De nada. Ummm I think there might be mix up with the idea of catching a cold, by being in the cold. You do not mean flu I assume? If flu then I don't think eating an ice cream would be a problem it could even help if they have a temperture.

If just a runny nose, then I'm not sure, maybe it's like nose netural(if you get me), if they have just come in from the cold, then it might be cold positive, and so negative and not nose netural at all. I'm trying here. Luego tio, no pienso es nada muy importante, pero puedes hablo con un medico es posible que conoce.
