Title: A locked thread for no reason.
Post by: guest39538 on 12/10/2017 11:38:20
Well it looks like the ''trolls'' are also now pressurising the moderators here too.  My thread was closed for no reason when I was having such a good conversation.

I am out of here for real this time, I don't see any other thread posters getting ''bullied''.

I will just go ''sock' all the other forums again to find conversation.

Good bye.

p.s science always closes me down to protect their ''religion''.

Tkadm30's threads have been locked for the same reason: a lot of discussion that ultimately gets nowhere.

I wish that a thread didn't go bonkers when a mod locks it. I can't even read most of the posts in there any more.

Looking at the last post, a reason was given. I’m not aware of anyone putting pressure on the moderators.

lol...
I'm guessing it's because you probably need to learn reading at the first place.. ;)

Colin, moderators especially should know that things take time to discuss until one side concedes. People like myself never get any matters resolved because the post is often shut with no resolving to the matter. Then people like myself who still do not have an answer have to use such extremes as being a sock etc.
The problem is Colin people do not discuss the new idea or think about the new idea, they just brush it aside by mimicking present information.

Below is an interpretation of how forum life is for people like me:

Me- hello I have a new idea

them- you are wrong because it says this here

me- but you are not discussing my idea

them - you are wrong because it says this here

Only if people actually discuss and think about the idea will they even understand the idea.  People telling me I am wrong is the obvious they do not understand the idea.

I do not believe giving present information as an  answer is  giving the answer to my idea.

In new theories present information should be hardly mentioned, NEW being the key word .

p.s I am going to try one last time to get a discussion going by asking a simple question in new theories of course. Lets see if I can get a genuine discussion with genuine answers.

You misinterpret what I'm saying. I'm talking about the programming in the thread somehow getting screwed up such that the pages are mostly a large white space. It's a bug. Does this not happen for the rest of you? Is it just on my computer?

It seems to be the ads that do it. I get it too. When the thread is more than a certain number of posts it will misbehave, then go all white and eventually crash the browser.

What you describe as " mimicking present information." is what everybody else knows are pointing out established facts.

I got the same problem.

It is a bug. Sorry for the misreading, @Kryptid .

Is this still happening - can someone point me at a page that is doing this?

I did discover one bug that was not caused by ads but by certain patterns of links in a post; this would truncate pages. I have fixed that.

But if there is still a problem with post or thread truncation please tell me and I'll fix it.

Thanks - but I've just visited that thread and got through all 3 pages without problem; spec: 7 year old laptop running win 10 browsing with chrome latest iteration.

Can anyone else having this problem please report the spec of their set-up so that we can try to troubleshoot this and spot any pattern; it's always possible that one of the ads was broken at source and this was disrupting the page for some people.

Thanks

That thread worked ok for me on Windows 10, in Chrome or Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

Bear in mind that the ad server will deliver different ads to different people, so if it is a problem with the ad source, other people may not see it.

I have an ad-blocker and still can't see the thread. I use Chrome.

That thread still "fails" for me in Chrome, but works in Explorer.

One difference is that I am not "logged in" in Explorer".

This thread

is doing the same thing.

is what everybody else knows are pointing out established facts.
Established facts are for the main sections of the forum Mr Chemist.  A new theories section is for new and suppose to be different than established information  which some is not even axiom facts.
If people ''see''' errors in the established information, a good scientist would want to understand and know that error so they can correct it and get it to be axiom information. i.e 100% facts

Repeating present information does not correct a fault in that information.

Example :

I can see this chair is broke .

You can only see the chair before it was broke and are telling me it is not broke.

You are not looking at the break or discussing how to repair the break.

If people ''see''' errors in the established information,

You haven't pointed out any errors.
You have just posted nonsense.

Also your "story" has a mistake

I can see imagine thatthis chair is broke .

You can only see the chair before it was is not broken and are telling me it is not broke.

You are not looking at the break (because it is not there) or discussing how to repair the break.

You can only see the chair before it was broke and are telling me it is not broke.

You are not looking at the break or discussing how to repair the break.

Yet when I examine the "chair", I do not see the break you speak of. Not only that, but the overwhelming majority of "carpenters" who have existed over the past century, many with degrees and decades of experience in their field, who examine the chair also do not see the break. Why should I believe you over my own education and the expert opinion of thousands of others who know much more than either of us?

Do you realize how extraordinarily unlikely it is for a single individual without any professional experience or a higher education in physics to have successive eureka moments that overturn the repeated observations and theories held true by the overwhelming majority of physicists for the past century all on their own? Probability alone strongly suggests that the one with the misunderstandings is you, not the legions of experts who have access to experimental equipment. If the "problems" were so obvious, no doubt the experts would have noticed them a long time ago.
