Title: Intelligent Design (not religious creationism)

I am researching for a new book and will be using statements made by scientists like Dawkins that said evolution may be the result of intelligent life forms that "seeded" the first life forms on earth.

I have collected lots of evidence of design in nature including DNA design, ATP pump, and a basis for a purpose for that design.


I would like to know what scientific theories others have come up with to explain this design in nature that can explain how that design is carried on through mutations.

I realize this is a controversial subject and I am not here promoting creationism and simply trying to understand Intelligent Design so I can explain it as a theory in my book.
