Metabalism?
«
on:

No matter how much I eat I never put weight on. I do, do a lot of exercise but even when I don't I never put weight on.
I eat like a little pig and my friend who is pretty much the same age as me does all the same sports that I do and everything and he puts lots of weight on.
Is it because of a fast metabalism? That is what I have been told...... what is this, metabalism?

I don't know if fast is the right adjective, but often when we are young, the body is not interested in storing fat. We are full of energy and we eat a lot. I remember putting down 27 4 inch pancakes once when I was 14. Now that I am 58, my body is screwed up and wants to convert all food to fat. I try to loose weight and my body says time to sleep so we don't use up the little extra energy we have and have to rob fat cells.
When the medical geniuses get off of their butts and figure out what is really going on and how to fix it. Until then they are just a bunch of quacks making lots of dumb guesses about things they don't know much about. It is a sad evaluation, but we know a lot more about hard sciences and we know a lot more about how to find the answers than do the Medical morons that want to make tons of money with their "practicing" medicene. Give you a hint you overstuffed shirts: figure out molecular folding, then go to how molecules interlock, learn what catlysists are, and stop all this hit or miss trial and error voodoo that we pay billions for.

You aren't saying that when I get older I will be fat are you? Because I won't be[^]

Now take a look at the humble coconut>
http://www.coconut-info.com/
this sounds to me like something that could help to solve obesity. Maybe it’s the types of fat we are now eating as opposed to the unadulterated fats we used to eat. Maybe it's the hydrogen added to fats to help solidify them that is causing so much fat to be stored inside our bodies?
Always a good starting point to analyse where the main problems with obesity lie in the worlds populations and then begin to ask what the dietary differences are. I.E. a big mac and fries soaked in hydrogenated vegetable fat or a Thai Curry with lemon grass and coconut. I know what I’d prefer to eat, how about you? And what is the true hidden secret behind a Kentucky chicken recipe? Maybe more hydrogenated oils with a good dollop of sodium chloride and various other salts, swilled down by growth hormones and antibiotics.
But hang on a minute, this shifts the blame from the medical cartel to the food industry, and who is holding these industrial joints accountable for placing a massive burden on the already overstretched health services. This is the core of the problem, address this and then the health industry can perform more efficiently perhaps.
But, and there is always a but, it is worth remembering also that it is not just the poor old chicken that is getting spoon-fed drugs and hormones by the container load, and injected with a pint of added fat before arriving on our supermarket shelves. Most of the elderly population are being given cocktails of many different medications and at a time when the last thing they need in their fragile bodies is more toxins? So I guess the guys and gals in the white coats that unquestioningly dish out the drug cartel’s multi billion dollar industry are as guilty as the drug cartel’s themselves. But what goes around comes around (Khama)

Obesity is caused by modern society using food and meal times as a social event, and seeing food as a way to get pleasure from the stimulating flavour. Eating no longer has much to do with surviving since we have lots of high fat/carb tasty processed food. To stop obesity all you have to do is eat less, eat naturaly produced food... and not see it as a social event or means of pleasure.

Not everyone's body is the same. In my case, a bad marriage, a stressful job, and a lot of travel on a budget lead to me gaining about 2 to 3 pounds a year. Then I remarried, cut back on the stressful job, and the travel and am trying to get my weight (245) my blood sugar (170) and my blood pressure (180/125) back in control with the help of a loving wife.
I saw a doctor and parted with about $1,500 two months ago. His pills may have made me healthier, but didn't cause any weight loss or reduction in blood sugar or blood pressure. So I took up walking 1 to 2 miles in the mornings before it gets too hot, dropped sweet foods from my diet, and pop a diet pill laced with caffinne anytime I feel like naping and don't think I have a good reason (Like not enough sleep the previuos night). Weight is down to 233, Blood sugar to 144, but no real progress on blood pressure yet.
I have a different doctor lined up for an appointment in a couple of weeks. There may be some medication for blood pressure, but I think most of the blood sugar problem will go away as I drop weight.
I tried an exercise gym for three months without much weight loss. The treadmills wore me out on the easy setting in about 10 minutes, and a good workout left me hungry and exausted for the day, and hurting the next day. I think runners have the easiest time controlling weight, and walking is the second best way, though walking is easier on the knee joints.
I have read that it has been reported that fat cells produce a chemical to encourage the storing of more fat, and interfere with the function of Insulin.

Swim! It's easily the best exercise to do! I used to swim all the time and I was henched up, now im all podgy [
] You use the most muscles out of any sport and it's aerobic. It's not stressful if you are over weight since your body is supported by the water, just go early when no one is around and you get the pool to yourself, or more likely people doing the same as you [
]. It's even better for blood pressure and heart problems because it teaches continued controlled breathing, and since you can swim for a long time at a steady pace your heart doesn’t race like you would if you suddenly started running up hill or something.
If you don't know how to swim its not the hardest thing in the world to learn since the human body floats naturally. Most of my family have a fear of water, it's one reason I was forced to have lessons every week until I was about 12. So I guess it isn't for everyone.
Tell you what if you start swimming, I will again [
] could do with losing a couple of stone myself.
