Title: How did the Universe begin?
Post by: Joe L. Ogan on 25/01/2010 22:31:40
How did the Universe begin?  I know that there are several theories.  What is the one most generally accepted in the world of science?  Thanks for comments.  Joe L. Ogan

The Big Bang model is the most widely accepted.

But what was before the big bang? The universe? Preceded by a previous big bang, preceded by an earlier universe, preceded by an earlier big bang......................

I rather think this question will never be answered.

This is the interesting one. We live in the universe but till now no one can give the accurate theory for beginning of universe. There are many theories from many people, but before big bang non theories support each other.

I think the most conventional (if hard to fathom) explanation is that space-time began with the big bang (if you can imbue meaning into the word "began" in this case). That is to say that there is no meaning to the question "before" the big bang.
