Volcanic Eruptions?
« on: 02/02/2023 19:08:11 »
I am hearing this now Frequently on news & media.

Has the Frequency really increased?

Or it's business as usual, but Media is reporting it Alot more Often?

P.S. - perhaps I'm watching the same damm news again n again on different channels.

This site suggests that the rate of large eruptions has not really changed (as a 10 year average).

Quote
The apparent increase in activity reflects increases in populations living near volcanoes to observe eruptions and improvements in communication technologies to report those eruptions.

Thanks for the Response.
I was anyways Doubting the News.
For some odd reason, most of the channel reports i watched kept on n on constantly bringing up terms like " Climate Change " & " Global Warming " into it.

Honestly, I'm kinda fed up with all the constant cribbin n cryin about Climate Crises!

Environmentalists keep making soo much NOISE on the issue, & talk so little about possible options to avert it.

Anyways, None of the Solutions seem realistically practical.
They keep blaming gases n cows n coal n oil, when the real problem is Us.

There is correlation between milankovich cycles and volcanism, what that is is unclear.

Ice can sink land in glacial periods, the UK has been buried and reimerged from ice many times and will be buried once more, it is a very fleeting area of the world, parts of Scotland are still rising 5000 years after the last ice left.

The sea also rises and falls due to ice, the North Sea once quite a fertile plane full of mammoths as recently as 6000bc. This movement of water affects the land beneath, reservoirs significantly affect the land they form on. They also increase the pressure within the land, they can cause or stop land movements due to saturation pressure..

The gravitational forces on the earth change as the inclination of earth changes, its orbit etc.

I'm giving this a second thought...

Surely Climate Change must be having some kind of a relationship with Volcanic Eruptions.
The whole System is indeed Interconnected.

But what exact effect CC has on VE & how much of the affect is negative/positive is very unclear to me.

I tried searching online...

" Climate change is causing the widespread warming of our land, oceans and atmosphere. Apart from this, it also has the potential to increase volcanic activity, affect the size of eruptions, and alter the “cooling effect” that follows volcanic eruptions. Any of these scenarios could have far-reaching consequences. "

The Source seems Unreliable & Biased.
