Just Chat! / Would you "cancel" a family member or a good friend?
« on: Yesterday at 06:01:46 »
"Cancel culture" is a new term but not a new social action. Ostracizing someone is as old as man itself. Even animals practice it. But if a good friend or family member of yours was outed as an extreme racist or an active pedophile or something just as worse, would you want nothing more to do with them?

2
Physiology & Medicine / How important is penis size in regards to the actual sex act?
« on: 16/03/2023 13:23:13 »
I grew up with the propaganda on both sides of the "argument". Obviously, my male peers maintained that a big phallus is something to be proud of, while women were more consolatory saying "It's not the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean".

3
Just Chat! / Generally speaking, how would Brits respond if...
« on: 13/03/2023 22:52:53 »
How would most Brits react if King Charles summoned a press conference to announce that he has begun taking GnRH modulators, estrogens, antiandrogens, and progestogens to transition into a woman and become Queen Charles?

4
Just Chat! / Does it make sense to shower before you go to bed?
« on: 13/03/2023 22:17:36 »
People either shower before bed or when they wake up. I never understood the former. We sweat when we sleep, plus a shower helps shock us into wake mode. I can understand taking a bath before bed, but to relax your muscles rather than for purpose of hygiene.

5
Just Chat! / What is your take on moral purchasing?
« on: 12/03/2023 00:18:32 »
Greta Thunberg firmly believes her acts will get her into heaven. These acts are her traveling around the world telling people what she thinks, purchasing an eco-friendly car, writing books and articles for the "thinking man", eating locally sourced food such as Västerbotten cheese., et cetera.

6
Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / Are the majority of domesticated cats and dogs content with coexisting?
« on: 10/03/2023 11:14:02 »
Only in the cartoons they're not?

7
Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / What do you consider the most disappointing discovery in space exploration?
« on: 09/03/2023 14:14:06 »
Some say when virtually no water was detected in Jupiter's atmosphere; or when the "face on mars" was a mirage or when Venus turned out to be a replica of the mythical Hell, and not the paradise planet people thought it might be.

8
Just Chat! / Should we tip our physicians when they do a good job?
« on: 06/03/2023 13:37:50 »
Should we tip our GP and surgeons, etc when they do a good job?

9
Physiology & Medicine / Why do some people not get hangovers?
« on: 05/03/2023 02:46:26 »
After a night of excessive drinking, there are some lucky people that don't get hangovers. Why?

10
General Science / In controlled demolitions, what procedures are applied to prevent air toxicity?
« on: 02/03/2023 14:40:29 »
When the World Trade Center collapsed on 9-11, it contaminated the air with all kinds of toxic material that caused death and permanent health problems. How are these toxic asbestos and other carcinogens kept at bay by the fine professionals in the controlled demotion industry?

11
Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Is it possible for a planet to be highly-highly abundant in magnesium?
« on: 24/02/2023 22:29:50 »
My question here is inspired by the findings that 16 Cygni Bb is shockingly high in lithium. Astrophysicists are constantly going back to the drawing boards about planetary limitations and such.

12
Physiology & Medicine / How important is it to geld a horse?
« on: 23/02/2023 17:46:08 »
I can understand doing it to our canines and especially our felines, as well as horses that graze, but domesticated horses do not have the opportunity for sex.

13
Just Chat! / Thermometers
« on: 20/02/2023 14:34:18 »
Patient: Doc, what's the difference between oral and rectal thermometers?

Doctor: Their taste.

14
Just Chat! / What are ways to protect yourself from falling satellites?
« on: 18/02/2023 11:45:17 »
They kill over one Earthpersons every two decades.

15
Physiology & Medicine / How does anesthesia medicine have recreational aspects?
« on: 16/02/2023 07:58:15 »
If it knocks a person out, putting them in non-rem sleep disabling their consciousness, where does the pleasure come from?

16
Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Why do astro-artists consistently portray Saturn as visible from Titan's surface
« on: 16/02/2023 04:45:00 »
One would think that people that specialize in astronomy illustration would know Titan's atmosphere is the opposite of translucent. That is why, like with Venus, super-sophisticated measures are required to get a glimpse of its surface.

17
Just Chat! / Is there convincing evidence of a civilization that precedes the Sumerians?
« on: 15/02/2023 14:18:32 »
In the historian world, this is a lively debate that often mutates into another question: how exactly do/should we define civilization?

18
Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / Is it possible to ride a kangaroo?
« on: 13/02/2023 14:35:21 »
I hear talk about how some Aussies ride kangaroos both recreationally and professionally. Many down under say it is both a myth and impossible to do because kangaroos are too stupid to train and will without thinking, "beat the sh*t out of anyone that gets too close to them", let alone saddle 'em.

19
Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / How important is it to recreate Earth's gravity on a manned spaceship?
« on: 05/02/2023 10:34:24 »
Obviously, it's not necessary to recreate Earth conditions while traveling within the confines of geospace, but would travel to Mars or Titan or further out benefit from it in regards to health, sanity, and comfort?

20
Just Chat! / What is the silliest lie you've said to impress a female?
« on: 04/02/2023 21:32:06 »
:>)
