Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Why finding a life on another planet is such a big deal?
« on: 22/05/2019 18:29:42 »
Why finding a life on another planet is such a big deal? If its here it can be anywhere.
Even if there is lions running around on some distant planet. I say so what. Whats the big deal.
They are here on earth so why could not they be found there?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / When Vacuum Is Not A Vacuum?
« on: 13/01/2019 22:25:02 »
As defined Vacuum is a space entirely devoid of matter. Does it mean when I create a vacuum in a glass bowl for example and then I drop in the bowl a flash drive for example, the space in the bowl cant be considered a vacuum as
flash drive is a matter.?
Or vacuum cant exist in outer space as space is full of planets , stars, comets, debris....?
How do you measure a size of a vacuum? What is a smallest size of a vacuum?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Would increase or a drop in Sun's temperature effect Earth's temperature?
« on: 13/12/2018 18:06:58 »
Would increase in Sun's temperature effect Earth's temperature? We talking about 1.5 degree celsius  temperature  increase on Earth would be catastrophic. So what increase in suns temperature would cause such a increase on Earth?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Does Earth's Orbit vary around the Sun?
« on: 16/06/2018 08:19:57 »
Is there any variations in Earth's orbit around the Sun? Meaning the path taken by the Earth around the Sun from year to year. If any , how much they differ?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / How big must a body of water be to have tides?
« on: 09/06/2018 17:48:16 »
How big the body of water must be to experience notable low and high tides?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Do you become an owner of a star or a planet if you get there first?
« on: 02/06/2018 16:26:36 »
Do you become an owner of a star or a planet when you get there first? Mars for example. Will SpaceX own it if they get there first? Kind of finders keepers. If not Why Not?
There are 200 billions stars in our galaxy. More then enough for everybody. Why not just give a star to an interested individual. It would be rather cool to own a real estate in deep space. Keep registry of already taken stars. See who your neighbour is. Or why not go big. There are 100 - 200 billion galaxies in our Universe. Give the galaxies away. More than enough for everybody to own one.

Otherwise how does it work?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Is it easier to build habitation in a Low Gravity Environment?
« on: 28/05/2018 16:46:20 »
What are the advantages of low gravity environment like a Moon's?
Imagine how much cheaper the construction costs will be. We can build with less strong materials, we can build higher,
we can use smaller motors to lift things like elevators( saving energy ).
 Anything I have left out?

Physiology & Medicine / How far into pregnancy can you test the foetal DNA?
« on: 26/05/2018 07:36:29 »
How far into pregnancy can you test the fetus DNA?

Chemistry / Why can't we live without water?
« on: 26/05/2018 07:24:10 »
Fact is we can't live without water H2O. Lets assume we get enough oxygen from breathing air. So that leaves H2. Why can't we live without water? Can't we just consume or inhale H2 where water is not available?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Where does one Universe stop and another start?
« on: 10/12/2017 20:20:35 »
Lets assume there is more than one Universe. Looking up from this planet, how do we know that we not looking
into another universe. Maybe they overlap? Surely there is no borders between Universes. Or how would we know where one Universe ends and other one starts?
Sorry if this question was asked already.

General Science / At what speed does passing air feel hotter, rather than cooler?
« on: 12/11/2017 06:58:50 »
When you travel in a car and stick your hand out of the window you feel cooling effect.
How fast would you have to travel for the air friction to start warming your hand.?

General Science / Where is all the Oxygen hiding in the Solar System?
« on: 12/11/2017 06:25:39 »
Oxygen is the third most abundant element in the cosmos, after hydrogen and helium. So far I know you can't breath on Mars and the Moon. So where is all the oxygen hiding?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / International space station
« on: 10/01/2014 08:43:49 »
In its 10 years of operation, what did the scientists discovered on board of the International space station that effected our lives down here on Earth?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / What keeps our earth's core from cooling down?
« on: 03/05/2013 16:18:32 »
What keeps our earth core from cooling down. And if it did cool down completely, would it effect our lives
Why is it hot in the first place?
