Colin2B is correct in order for relativity to be correct there is no momentum in light. Light is energy itself. Mass causes dilation of energy but does not change the wavelengths of light. So when we observe a blue shift down a gravity well it is a calibration change in the detector by position rather than a speed change in the blue shifted light. Potential energy follows dilation of energy down a gravity well. the most dilated position has the least amount of potential energy. The tick rate of clocks is slowest in the center of mass with more dilated energy and least amount of potential energy.

We need to get that physical energy of space out of the realm of virtual energy being separate from mass. Energy moves electrons.

this is what I am arguing:). Colin2B is arguing the opposite (I think - it is not really clear what he is arguing).

The total energy of a photon is 1 quanta. This a a constant (as per Plank's equation). This is the basis of quantum physics (as I have so well demonstrated in a previous post (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=41125.0). The only variable in a photon is time. Energy per second is the energy that is constantly misrepresented in physics as the energy of a particle. Given these facts it would seem that most of the various states of the universe are caused by time shifts in bosons, in particular, photons, multiples of quanta and possibilities . That being the case it is not out of the question that photons cause time shifts in particles (i.e. alter their momentum)
