Are there ways to immediately identify vascular blockage or clot?

Are there biomarkers or other diagnostic procedures to identify artery blockages or clots?

What's their lag?

When someone has a stroke, it is important to get them into an MRI or CT quickly, so that doctors can determine if it is a blockage caused by a clot (in which case you give them clot-busting drugs) or tissue damage caused by a blood vessel rupture (in which case you give them clotting compounds). Choose the wrong therapy, and the patient gets worse and maybe dies.

1. Live in a city, not too far from a major hospital

2. Don't live alone

3. Ensure your housemates are familiar with the signs of a stroke (FAST):
 - Face: Check their face. Has their mouth drooped?
- Arms Can they lift both arms?
- Speech Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?
- Time Is critical. If you see any of these signs call an ambulance straight away.

4. Ensure your health insurance is paid up... (easier in some countries than others...)

That's not true as it depends on the traffic and in London, traffic can be horrendous.

My father arrived at the golf course with 1 swollen leg, a retired Dr. said go to the emergencey room immediately. It turned out to be a blood clot in the groin area, caught in time and no ill effects.
