I'm also having severe problems with sport in POIS, with only 1-2 hours exercise each week since last November : increased difficulty to work in the following days, exhaustion, joint pain. I just don't know what to do with that. I can stop but I think I need it for cardiovascular health so I don't (an other good reason for scientists to research about POIS!).I must say that I have to stand up for a long time in my work and this doesn't help.

Demo, maybe it's an idea to send a pm to all the members of the POIS-forum. And to ask if they had a blood test for Vitamin D. And if not, maybe they can ask their doctor. Of almost 10 members it's know that they have a low Vitamin D. After your mail maybe it will occur that 50 or more members have a low Vitamin D. With this knowledge we can contact a doctor like dr. Dexter. P.S. Maybe we can make list for Vitamine D, like B_Jim did in general.

It would be very hard to go through and compile a list of everyone to PM. Even if we used a computer script to do this, it would be a lot of work to then go and PM all of these people, because you can only send messages to up to five people at a time. Also, is the evidence really that strong? More so than for testosterone deficiency, or cortisol excess, or pituitary abnormalities? If we took a random sample of the population we would also find people low on vitamin D -- is the proportion here significantly more than that? It's an interesting idea, but a mass PM should probably be reserved for when we have more evidence.
Has anyone been completely celibate for one cycle? (From day 0, all the way up to an NE) By completely celibate, i mean, not touching or stimulating yourself what so ever. I think that sexual stimulation is part of POIS, It releases serotonin and other chemicals. It stimulates these certain nervous functions, and orgasm is just a big blast of stimulation. I still seem to get bits of POIS if I am even slightly stimulated, orgasm is the worst I could do.Maybe we do have a simple chemical imbalance that can be overcome by quality sleep (sleep between 9-10, wake between 8-10) diet, and possibly exercise... just if we resist stimulation...

Quote from: GoingCrazy on 20/08/2010 01:50:16I think that sexual stimulation is part of POISSeveral people have also reported that, but stimulation has absolutely no effect on me personally. In fact, it sometimes even strengthens well-being if it doesn't go any further. I've also seen that reported in a number of writings. Yet another baffling, elusive idea for POIS []

I will try to avoid an O or other things for another three weeks. I want to check how I react on a few weeks of Thyrax and Vitamin D supplement.
I've said this before, but my POIS feels a lot like an addiction. Sometimes I have one orgasm, and I desperately crave another. Then with the next, the craving may go away, and I may even feel euphoric for a time, but I eventually develop HUGE withdrawal symptoms after two days. These are immediately alleviated by yet another orgasm. But at this point I've developed brain fog and other symptoms.
Quote from: martin88 on 19/08/2010 04:22:32Eventually vitamin D deficiency is a symptom of POIS and not a cause (link with endocrine gland parathyroid?)I don't think so. My low Vitamin D is caused by a lack of sun. And I don't use milkproducts, sometime a little bit of cheese.

For a number of years I've been taking Diclofenac Sodium 50mg X3 a day for two weeks subsequent to orgasm, it helps a lot more than Paracetamol/cocadmol. I can't take Ibuprofen for prolonged periods of time as it worsens my already quite severe acid reflux problems.Unlike some of the other medicines and herbs which have a limited effect in lessening POIS symptoms, this has consistently provided me with relief over the years. In the Ashby POIS article, where the patient was given the same medication and saw a markedly reduced POIS episode, this is not long lived and the effect of the medication will reduce over time and useage. I would only rate the effectiveness of taking Diclofenac in relation to the feeling out of POIS to be <20% at the most, which is still quite significant. This begs the question what mechanism is in play when we get POIS that an anti-inflammatary medicines respond well? (in my case anyways)
Several people have also reported that, but stimulation has absolutely no effect on me personally.

Low vitamin D can also be a symptom if POIS sufferers are staying more indoor because of all the other symptoms. I agree it should be tested for everyone.
You are 100% clean? Not even touching? That seems like you would have to put in a lot of effort to do that.
Horizon how many hrs did use it before orgasm.
