Hi All,

Happy Whatever !!

Is it possible to re-magnetize old magnets ?...how is it done ?..can I do it here at home or do I need to take it to "Re-Magntetize Magnets R Us ?"

Thanks

All you need is an enormously strong electromagnet and put your old magnet between its poles for a second or so.
Where I used to work they had one for magnetising loudspeaker magnets.

Not to reccomended but when I was a boy and had only the AC mains supply as a source of power (no silicon diodes in the thirties) I used to boost the strength of the magnets in 120 ohm GPO earpieces by flicking the mains supply across the coils until I got the right part of the cycle, a matter of trial and error.
