I believe autism is caused by rare genetic variations in the genome.

Autism is thought to affect 1-2% of the population (mostly boys). So it's not really rare.
It is thought to be a mixture of genes and environment, with genes playing a major part.
But the causes are still the subject of considerable debate.

Autism is part genetic, part evroinmental (but not vaccines)

Good afternoon. I'm sorry that you fell this test. If you have recently learned that your child has or may have an autism spectrum disorder, you need to take it easy to this information. None of the parents is ever ready to hear that the child is something other than a happy and healthy one, and the diagnosis of ASD can be particularly frightening. You may not be sure how to best help your child, or confuse conflicting treatment recommendations. Or you may have been told that ASD is an incurable, lifelong condition, as a result of which you are concerned that nothing you do will change the situation. Learn about autism. The more you know about the autism spectrum disorder, the better you will make informed decisions for your child. Educate yourself about treatment options, ask questions and take part in all decisions about treatment.
Become an expert on your child. Find out what causes the complex or destructive behavior of your child and what causes a positive response. What does your child find stressful or frightening? Calming? Inconvenient? Pleasant? If you understand what is affecting your child, you will better understand the problems and prevent or change situations that cause difficulties.
Accept your child, fads and all that. Instead of focusing on how your autistic child is different from other children and that he or she is "missing" the practice of taking. Enjoy the special quirks of your baby, mark small successes and stop comparing your child to others. The feeling of unconditionally loved and accepted will help your child more than anything else.
Do not give up. It is impossible to predict the course of the disorder of the autism spectrum. Do not go to conclusions about what kind of life will be like your child. Like everyone else, people with autism have a lifetime to grow and develop their abilities. Good luck and happy moments of life.

Yes, it's true. Autistic people have a good, extraordinary side. Their memory is strongCitation?.
