Is Patriotism a Hindrance?
« on: 09/10/2021 15:29:43 »
Will a Time ever come when the whole of AFRICA Unites as One?

Could USA & RUSSIA ever become One Country?

Difference between Languages & Religion do Not seem to hinder or make it Impossible for Different countries to Unite & be One.

But how can one leave aside Patriotism?

Ps - Seems Impossible to make Everybody Forget Everything & just press a Reset button.
(There ain't one, except 4 d damm Red Nuke button)
Still, I'm Sure survivors would dearly cling onto their National Flags.

Unfortunately, combining countries is most often done via a hostile takeover rather than a mutually beneficial merger.

The only example I can think of where two separately governed groups united under one flag is for the purpose of fighting off a common enemy. Most often such alliances are only temporary, but not always.
As Evan points out, the rest is done by conquest. Almost any country you can name today has been formed as a result of conquest of the people already living there, not by mutual permanent agreement among those people.

Politicians make their living by sowing division. Note how the united KINGdom is disintegrating as politicians demand ever more devolution - i.e. more politicians.  Likewise continued irritation in Canada, though largely quelled by adopting national bilingualism. At the other end of the scale India was historically so fragmented by a thousand languages that a national railway system and  a common official language were accepted as common sense  and the route to prosperity.

The Soviet Union held together for a long time but suffered from a command economy that couldn't keep up with popular aspirations.

Can Americans & Russians not be Convinced to Unite as One?

Free Medical for all ages.
Less Tax.
Other Benefits.
Free stipened amounts for All Citizens.

Would there be No monetary, social or Other benefits that people would gain?

Maintaining a Nuke must be charging something, Right?

Could 1% of Funds allocated for Defense not be moved towards social benefits?

Not aiming at US conquering Russia.
Not suggesting Russia conquers US.
Not advising Great Britain colonising India, Again.

Why are the pathways towards Uniting soo narrow?
Why only Conquest n Defeat n Colonise & Rule?

Ps -
How much Longer do WE have to keep this Dumb Act going?
Especially when WE Realize & are Knowing!
Aren't WE Children born out from the Same Seed?
Why Not then just cut the crap, n do Great Deeds!
Why Not Just Unite?
Bcoz, WE know it's Right!

Unfortunately you can't have 1,3 and 4 at the same time as 2.

It would however be a Good Thing if the USA and Russia agreed that, as they have no territorial claims against each other, they might form a well-armed World Police Force and make petty dictators behave properly. Kind of like the UN, but with balls and no representation from religious perverts.

My father used to point out that no cricketing nations have ever invaded one another, and that exclusion from international cricket and rugby ended apartheid in South Africa. There is already an all-Ireland rugby team so my solution to an ongoing stupidity would be a united Ireland within the Commonwealth. At a stroke it would civilise the north, introduce professional cricket, and offer major trading privileges (like freedom of sausages) to a strongly agricultural country.
