After a bad case of food poisoning, i have a few questions.
What causes it, where does it come from and how did it get there?

Food that has not been handled properly, not proper cleaning of meats poultry's and melons etc. Temperatures of foods not maintained properly in refrigerators .. or handled wrongly. Undercooked foods , or food that has been left out at room temperature. They can cause botulism etc. and salmonella.
Food prep is important in the avoidance of these things as well as proper cleaning of meats and fruits and vegetables. Bacteria develops and can be spread through cutting utensils cutting boards improperly washed hands etc. Meat should never be prepared on a bored being used for preparing other things and the should be scrubbed and sanitized in between. A refrigerator needs to maintain a certain temperature to keep food safe.
Food Prep surfaces should be washed and cleaned and sanitized before and after food prep!

Viruses: Norovirus, Hepatitis A (and sometimes B, C), and some of the respiratory viruses as well...
Bacteria: E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio cholerae, Clostridium, etc.
Parasites of all kinds: Trichinella, for example.
Toxins made from bacteria and fungi: Botulinum toxin, aflotoxin, Shiga toxin (the bacteria can be long dead and the toxins will get you)
Amoebas: Entamoeba, trichuris, etc.
Tons of stuff can make your belly sick!

In most cases it comes from Stavros's kebab shop in Peckham.
