Now for a fun programming exercise...write a script that figures not the total number of words, but the total number of UNIQUE words. ;)
Congratulations, though. You have a terrific website, there are some fine people that contribute here.

Actually, I wrote a program last year that generates a list of unique words and the number of occurrences of each. I might even be able to find it if I were to look.

"Actually, I wrote a program last year that generates a list of unique words and the number of occurrences of each" ROFL!
If it is unique then it only occurs once...heh
-
Well spotted heythere - I'm normally quicker than that and I'd have had him for that one !
Hyped-up lines in the media like "very unique" really make me cringe. Am I becoming a boring old fart ?!
(someone will now say...what do you mean "becoming" ? !) [;)]

Is that your shoes you are having problems with? I find if I have them professionally resoled, they're OK. Don't you have shoe repair places in England?

And you are giving me guff for my *almost* correct use of the word unique, Chris.
I never did find that program. And I looked for almost two minutes!

I guess it depends on what you're interested in. Some people love working with words. Some even love accounting [:0]
