"Noseblindness" is an interesting term for it...
- This can be lethal in the case of Hydrogen Sulfide, which really stinks when you first get exposed. After a short exposure, your nose ignores it, but it is still messing with your body.

In my opinion, I believe that "magic" and "tricks" are not "magic"/supernatural (if you get what I mean). There is nothing special about these things. It is all science and lots of maths. For example, if you are doing one of the "I know your card but I wasn't looking" tricks, you will need to use lots of maths (I think) to pick the right card. The only interesting thing about magic is that it is science that "tricks" people (or should I say science that tricks other peoples' conciseness/mind). Tell me if I am wrong.

I think the "sell by date" for the vaccines at room temperature is a few days(off the top of my head). Those vaccinaters will need to work fast...

Hello again,
I have presented my presentation to my form class this week! All went well, and it as a good experience, even if half of them weren't listening. Unfortunately, I could not video it, but I will attach a copy of the PowerPoint below. Now, I will try to write about my ideas in more detail, listing factors that affect the ideas, experiments (if I can devise them), and other stuff.
I hope that within a few years, I will be able to submit my ideas for research, and then hopefully develop them into theories. Don't forget to criticise/compliment on my presentation.

At which point you worry about whether you have switched off everything that should be switched off, put out the dustbin, locked the door, set the alarm, paid the bills....And if you prefer the relaxed, gentler pace of country life, have I closed the chicken coop? locked the gun case? was that a fox barking? where's the dog?.....That's true as well.
Babies eat, sleep and defecate. Any problem with any of that, shout for mum. Then eat, sleep, or defecate.

So it wouldn't change the weight of your squares. As far as we can tell so far, dark matter only interacts with ordinary matter through gravitational forces (which are practically non-existent on the level of individual particles).HaHa! I knew that was going to happen. Thanks anyways.

Since I last posted on the forum, a lot has happened. First, in collaboration with my form tutor and careers teacher, I have nearly completed a PowerPoint, explaining my ideas in a more reader-friendly and less compact way. I will hopefully share it with my form class next week and I will publish the PowerPoint and the video of me presenting it. Secondly, I have reached out to the Royal society's grants and fellowship department in London, requesting my ideas to be shared with the appropriate fellows of the society. Lastly, I have also contacted the Department of Psychology at Cambridge Unversity, and Dr CJ Moore from the same department. Dr Moore is an emeritus professor of auditory perception and a world-famous researcher/expert in his field! I await responses from all of them.
Before I go, can I ask that if anyone sees a bit of research, papers, topics, questions and any other things related to my ideas, please can you share them with me, as this would help me?

Why do babies go to sleep almost instantly, while we have to wait for sleep to come after we go to bed? This question popped in my head just now, as I am watching my niece seep upstairs through the baby monitor. Could it be because of the phases of sleep; it would be nice to know.

Hi everyone,
I had this idea this morning in bed about a way that we could prove the existence of dark matter. This is just an idea, and I want to ask your advice; let's begin!
When you are shading an object on a piece of paper with a pencil, you can sometimes see some grainy or missed bits of shading. Of course, you will quickly scrub your pencil over that area once again to fix this. To your eye, you will see that there are no more bits of dodgy shading, but if we got a microscope over your work, you will see that there might be some grainy places on the sheet; this might have to do with the type of paper you see, the pencil you use or the surface you work on.
Yesterday, I was watching a recording of the show Powering Britain. In the documentary, a female chemist/laboratorist, at one of the largest nuclear power plants in Britain, was monitoring the water feed for particular particles, in parts per trillion! Also, I know that scientists use different techniques to identify the different types and amounts of elements in a sample. They can also make pictures out of it. So, if I, for example, paint a black square over a white board, and then use one of the techniques, wouldn't I prove dark matter? Not yet...
There was another show, which I watched a long time ago. It was about the universe. I remember, a researcher was making a computer model of how the universe formed, but if he/she used all the relevant data and fed it into the computer, they would get a universe model that was far smaller than today's universe. They concluded that the missing elements/particles/mass has to come from 'dark matter', which we can't see/ measure yet (I think).
So, this is how I would prove dark matter:
1) I paint a black square, over and over, on a white background, and then calculate the mass of the painted board.
2) I will then scan the square and find the mass of the detectable atoms n the black square.
3) I will then weigh the board with a standard weighing scale and record any differences
4) if the two masses are different, there is then a determined mass within the known mass; this might be dark matter
5) Lastly, I will make an image of the black square and see if there are any white grains on the image/ unknown shapes on it. This might also be able to indirectly show dark matter.
Remember, these are only ideas and they sound far fetched. See what you think,

Some insects have four wings, but diptera (house flies) have the second pair reduces to a stalk with a knob on the end, called halteres, that vibrate very fast in flight. AFAIK these provide an artificial horizon or turn rate indication, as in an aircraft.👍
