Title: If I "Pump" myself with Helium... ?
Post by: Seany on 29/05/2007 11:36:06
If I pump myself with lots and lots of helium.. I will float? If I put lots in, although this isn't possible..

But then I float, like a balloon, excluding the facts that I will either explode, or anything else that might happen..

Am I correct in saying, that my mass will be higher, but I will float?

It's all about the ratio of mass to volume (the density), if you pumped yourself up like a balloon so that you go many times bigger then yeah, sure, you'd float. But you would have to get E-NOR-MOUS... a balloon skin weighs (I guess) about a 1 g and has to expand to about 1 L to float. I weigh about 70 kg, 70000 times more and so would have to be "blown up" to about 70000 L to float....
