Woow very nice article Demo ! Very happy to see more and more scientifics and doctors look "our" Pois as a serious condition. So, I really would like to have the full article But it seems to confirm the cytokins release with orgasm, explaining the flu-like symptoms. It may be confirmed by M Waldinger's study in the next months. But there are a lot dark points like the role of sexual hormones and cortisol. I imagine the normal cortisol function would be to regulate the cytokins release. What happens if adrenal glands are "busy" (DHEA x5 or hormones/testosterone homeostasis after orgasm) ? No more details on cognition symptoms. But I'm surprised by the solution given. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs taken 1 day or 2 after orgasm ?!?It supposes the 2 cases are long (7 days?). But why not before and why not continuous treatment to come back to a normal sexual frequency ?Anyway, we already talk about NSAI. A woman have succes when taking ibuprofen some hours before orgasm (case 148). Another take 3 ibuprofen to alleviate pains post orgasm (case 158).
CCconfucius re SSTARCCc, I heard back from SSTAR's Yvonnada McNeil, (email: ymcneil AT acog.org ) - and rather than wait for the merry-go-round through her, I simply emailed back Ms. McNeil and asked her to forward my letter + attachment to Jane Ashby. So we're one step closer.
NSAI? i hope Dr. waldingers cure is better than NSAIs. thats like shooting an elephant with a bee-bee gun. although in the past i remember getting some relief from the initial stage right after an o from ibprophen.

Oh, and btw, I'm in the States now back from China...talk about culture shock/jetlag.
Dear all, Firstly, I do not suffer from POIS but my partner does. Last January I was diagnosed with Adult ADD. My symptoms: brain fog, being moody, lack of concentration, inability to finish a sentence, memory loss, depression, fatigue, headaches and so forth were remarkably similar to that of my partner, post ejaculation. I do not come from a scientific background but I have wondered if there is a hormonal issue in his frontal lobe and would a slow release ADD medication like Atomoxetine a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, help deal with some of the symptoms and make life a little more manageable. What do you think?
Please let me know
We still have not come to a definitive conclusion as to why the conclusion of intimacy is met with such a destructive immune response. Is it comparable to type one diabetes where the beta cells of the pancrease are destroyed by antibodies? If so, what is being attacked and what specifically causes the associated fatigue?Best,Dr. Matt
