Title: what's the best way to hang clothes out to dry?

when i hang my towels out to dry, would they dry quicker if i hung then left to right (width ways) or up, down?

Well Paul if you have sun with little to no wind then hang them long ways across the line where the sun hit the whole towel. If you have breeze and sun hang them down long.but allow a loose gap at top for the wind to move them and blow them dry better! I am no expert but from experience that works pretty good otherwise I always ended up with the top dry and the bottoms still wet and would have to go out and turn them over in order to finish drying them.
