"At the end of the day everyone needs to drink"
« on: 10/11/2010 04:40:33 »
A few months back there was a six-part, 12-hour documentary on the History Channel here in the United States called America: The Story of Us.  During the part on Prohibition (1920-1933) comedian and political philosopher Bill Maher commented that a nation cannot "legislate morality", and that "at the end of the day" we all "need to drink".  Does anyone agree with his assessment?  Do we all need to drink at the end of the day to calm our worries?

some people drink, some take drugs, some go to the gym, some run for hours, so do karate..

I think he was being 'subject' orientated but really meant 'at the end of the day we all need to wind down"

No we don't all have to drink at the end of the day.. Thats just silly... I agree with JnA.. we all need to unwind... read a book listen to some nice music.. surf the net, relax in a tub..etc... or just stretch out in the comfort of our homes and breath calmly and relax...be with our families.. very nice..

No, of course not. I don't have a drink at the end of the day, any day Hmmmm, perhaps I should take it up.
