Title: How does magnetic refrigeration work?
Post by: scientizscht on 12/12/2019 10:25:49
Hello!

When we cool a magnetocaloric item with magnetism, where does this work come from in case the magnet is permanent?

Is the work to move the magnetocaloric item into the magnetic field, the work we have to input so that the material will gets cooled?
Is there a resistance to move the magnetocaloric material in/out of the magnetic field?

Thanks!

The effort put into moving the magnet.
