Just recently this popup appears on my computer a few times daily. I have McAfee which says everything's fine. What's going on?

Something nasty is trying to execute code to do something bad on your machine from internet explorer; the DEP security function has caught it & blocked it. You should switch to Chrome for the most secure browser (it's not as easily exploited as IE, so you'd get fewer or none of those messages). I use Firefox myself, & that is adequate, but Chrome is the winner when it comes to security. I use it on my laptop. At the very least, make sure you're using the latest version of IE if you wanna continue using it.

Not really. It's a typical 'new' Windows thingy. When it doesn't recognize the code or find it heuristically questionable those messages 'pop up'. It does it for a lot of program. You can instruct it into what programs you 'admit' on your computer. It may react on your own software as well, if it's third party, and not written to windows standard. Go to <system> <system properties> <performance options> and there you will find it. then allow the program you may or may not get to work otherwise, or services..

I agree with Fox on Firefox though.
To use W and W-explorer is just plain stupid.
W + Firefox + addons (Google and read) + Zonealarm + antivirus...
All free, well, except for W.
And close windows 'remote control' and firewall after you installed Zonealarm.
And put it on 'manual', so that you take a first look on all..
You can approve of them as they come, just x the right 'box'.

Humm, I doubt it will, it sounds like one of those features that are in built in the program (Chrome probably tries to detect which direction it is best to open the bookmarks)
Firefox is perfectly adequate, however. I use multiple tabbed homepages for the various forums I frequent (ooh popular me! :P) Facebook BBC news etc, I find it more useful than bookmarks.
