Nice eh ?

My son just told me that he learned that skin has more cold receptors than hot ?

Why’s that then ?..and what’s the ratio ?...why should my skin feel more cold that heat ? Does the same apply to other animals ?

I wish I knew….......Oh my !!...how I wish I knew !.....I wish I knew so very much !!

Will ewe help me know very much  ?

Thank ewe

Mwah mwah

Maybe because we are more likely to freeze then to die from heat prostration...we need to be able to  maintain a certain body heat to function properly Blood flow etc... Maybe that way our body can turn on some hair growth etc to help warm our body's.. maybe they act as thermometers feelers if you will.. LOL Only a guess....

A good question oh great sheepish one.

Should anyone have the answer to this skinny question, could you also tell us if their is a difference between male and female? Why is it women always seem to feel the cold more than men and seem to have a greater tolerance of heat than men?

AND WHY DOES 'ER INDOORS INSIST ON PUTTING HER FRIDGE DIGITS ON MY NICE WARM SKIN?

Thank ewe Oh Libertinish one !

Lets hope a passing hot-and-cold-receptorologist passes by and answers !...hopefully they may also be expert in the fine art of wives attaching fridge digits upon husbands skin !...I don't think it's too much of a long shot !

Here is a good skin confusing trick. Get three coins that are the same, such as 2ps. Put one in the fridge for a while and two on a radiator. Get a friend to lie down and close their eyes. You might want to blindfold them if you are pervy. Place the cold coin on the person's forehead. Ask the person to think about the weight of the coin. Take the cold coin off and place the two hot coins, stacked one on the other, on the friend's forehead. Ask them to think about the weight of the coins again. The friend will think that the two coins weigh the same as the one coin. This is down to the larger number of cold sensors in the skin.

This doesn't answer the question but it is more make it fun for everyone!

I think the need to shiver in order to keep the body temperature up is why we have more cold sensors.
