Well if the pharmaceutical industry can be included in the terms of the op's question, then notable advances were achieved. The first synthetic opioid, pethidine, Eisleb et al, methadone ( Brockmul, Erhart? ) another synthetic opioid both at ig farben. And of course of very doubtful value but still used in medicine is methamphetamine produced by reduction of ephedrine. Many other pharmaceuticals were produced in the thirties and forties in what was a golden age for synthetic organic chemistry in Germany.

Another one was mepacrine( quinacrine ), the first synthetic anti-malarial which could compete with quinine which had it's only source in a south American tree.
