Title: elbow pain
Post by: annemarie thompson on 28/02/2006 09:00:40
i am concerned about my husband he is 47 yers old and just started work after a seventeen year parental break, he is working as a kitchen porter which involves a lot of lifting, carrying and even scrubbing pans and equipmentin an industrial kitchen. Over the last four weeks he has been complaining of pain in his left elbow, he describes it as a sharp stabbing pain which then causes his elbow to lock up. Once he is able to move it again the pain then changes to a dull throbbing pain. Whilst he is feeling this you can see a small area on the outer joint which pulses profusely. please help he has a fear of doctors and hospitals.

annemarie...I am sorry for your husbands elbow ache...there are medically qualified people here but you will have to be patient. Clearly the pain is caused by something aggravating it in his work and in the interim I would suggest you pop down to Boots and pick up up one of those support bandages to tightly fit over his elbow, and also speak to the pharmacist, a resource that very few people take advantage of....BUT, Hubby is a typical bloke with an inherent distaste and fear of doctors, he may have to overcome it !!..in fact he should....what's more important ?..his elbow and work or a visit to a doctor ?

Good luck and lets hope a passing elbow specialist chimes in and comments

Men are the same as women.... just inside out !!
