Title: The universe keeps expanding
Post by: Quantumorigin7 on 29/08/2007 17:09:18
I always firmly believed that if the universe keeps expanding, then there has to be a greater force out there making it that way.

The universe, in theory, will end in some 20 billion years, or it could end in one trillion years in the big crush. If that is so, couldn't the universe have pulled off that stunt trillions of years ago and we're in an eternal loop. I'm not saying we existed in those other universes, we only live once, but it has to be possible that other times existed, trillions, quadrillions, even octillions of years in the past.....maybe it never began.

With that being a possibility, then there had to be something there before it all began. How could the universe have just started form absolute nothing. A living thing.....start from nothing.

Who/What Created God?

My spiritual encounter guided me to compose the following poem.

The Intelligent Designer proclaims

I am the Intelligent Designer;
I am what mankind has decided to call God.
I did not come from nowhere.
I play no magic tricks on man.
I did not create the earth by casting spells.
I had a humble beginning the same as man;
My beginning was at the dawn of spirituality.
My wisdom grows as more spirits unite
After the cessation of life after much physical strife.
Throughout time I have been named God,
Allah, Jehovah, The Great Spirit, and many more.
I do not judge man for his vanity or naivety
To be the one who claims to please me the most.
I am easy to please. I require very little.
I only want you to do what is best for mankind.
I will bless you and wish you well.
I will inspire your mind and you will
Accomplish the unfathomable.
I require no worship. I need nothing from man.
I am self-sufficient. I am spirit.

Develop your spirit wisely, the best that you can.
Live your life for the betterment of man.
Your spirit will soon be with me and then
Together we will see and traverse the universe.
There are many wonders to behold,
Your spirit will soar.
You will partake in all the wisdom
That has been gathered from the beginning of time.
The stars will be your playgrounds.
You can play with the animals,
Be with your loved ones,
Listen to the greatest opera,
Stage or musical performances,
Or you can just relax next to a bubbling brook
And enjoy the scenery.
You feel no pain, despair,
Heartache, or negative emotions.
You are now One with me.
You are with the Intelligent Designer
You are with God my child.

The problems with arguments along this lines is that it is trivial to ask what came before the thing that came before the universe. It hasn't explained any more date, so it isn't scientific.

As for a living thins starting from non-living things, as long as you have a few simple prerequisites that is entirely plausible.

It's worth a shot. But you see, look at our universe, we are Earth, we have Humans, animals, and our surroundings, it's all we know. To us, we are the center of the universe. We search and we search and we search and all we find is microorganisms in prehistoric water on Mars and other distant planets. If there were other lifes out there, we'd know, we'd be in contact by now. All those alien stories you read are 100% scams, the media, the press, they want to make something out of themselves.

I feel that someday humans will grasp the universe and maybe even be able to harness light energy for the good of mankind. But will we ever determine for certain the boundaries of the universe, to see beyond the walls Billions and billions of years away........AT LIGHT SPEED.

It seems the universe is playing a trick on us, we can never see the end of it, it will just never happen. We are not supposed to see the end.

The universe was created and it changed over time and we evolved into what we are today. Plain and simple. A living thing, the universe, could not have started from absolute zero, what could have sparked it all from absolute nothingness, and in saying that, the universe is quite finite and had to spring from the infinite......the Creator. If it sprang from other meta-universes, where did they start, it's a never ending cycle that had to start somewhere.

Remember, Man has reached an I.Q. well into the 200's, but God's I.Q. is infinite.∞∞

If there were other lifes out there, we'd know, we'd be in contact by now.

The universe was created...and had to spring from the infinite...the Creator. If it sprang from other meta-universes, where did they start, it's a never ending cycle that had to start somewhere.

Remember, Man has reached an I.Q. well into the 200's, but God's I.Q. is infinite.∞∞

1. To travel to our "closest solar system" where life may or may not exist would take several thousend years...so we will never see other life forms even if they do exist...we are one of billions of planets, so other life is a distinct possibility.

2. If something is created...it needs a creator who created the creator.

3. I submits that trillions of years ago space was a vacuum containing only light nuclei and the universe was devoid of all solid matter. Atoms were created from energy through nuclear fusion which is the action of two light nuclei joining into one stable nucleus which is lighter than the total of the two and therefrom emit energy. This nuclear fusion of atomic particles possess vast amounts of energy which is also a fundamental attribute of life and function of the universe. An equivalent quantity of physical energy was expended in creating the atom which was thought to be indivisible but now know can be resolved into component units. This nuclear fusion and physical energy caused a chain reaction, a collision of atoms resulting in the formation of compounds; the beginning of the universe.

Modern atomic theory is generally said to begin with John Dalton, an English chemist and meteorologist who in 1808 published a book on the atmosphere and the behavior of gases that was entitled A New System of Chemical Philosophy. Dalton's theory of atoms rested on four basic ideas: chemical elements were composed of atoms; the atoms of an element were identical in weight; the atoms of different elements had different weights; and atoms combined only in small whole-number ratios, such as 1:1, 1:2, 2:1, 2:3, to form compounds.

In recent years, we have learned that 95% of the universe is made of a type of matter or energy that we cannot see nor understand. Gravity may ripple across the universe in waves, and certain cosmic rays, atomic particles moving at near light speed, possess an energy far greater than that which can be explained by modern physics.

Our knowledge of the universe is in its infancy.

4. God's intellect is progressive, not stagnant.

God declares:
My beginning was at the dawn of spirituality. (eons ago)
My wisdom grows as more spirits unite (our purpose in life = to gather wisdom)
After the cessation of life after much physical strife.

Oh c'mon, if there are other life forms out there, there's no reason to think they're anything like us (carbon/water based, etc etc).  Or that their "intelligence" levels are anything like ours. They might be much less bright, and not have got beyond crawling about in swamps (or some equivalent) or they might be much more intelligent, know about us, but not think we're worth talking to.
The existence or otherwise of a god or gods is without scientific foundation at least in this context. It may help people get their heads round the enormity and complexity of life and the universe, but just because we don't understand something doesn't mean it's constructive, in terms of a practical and predictive understanding of pyhysics, to reach a point and then give up and say "it must have been god" or the equivalent "magic happened".
(I don't say there isn't a god, I don't say there is, but down the years people have often said "it's beyond our understanding, it must be god" and been shown wrong, I see no reason to think this case is different)

if there are real E.T`s anywhere there`s every reason to expect them to be a lot like us, carbon forms up as D.N.A the same everywhere (more or less) so a similar environment and time scale might produce a humanoid anywhere.

no other chemical element is capable of forming organic material, so there is only carbon to make life.

i sure hope i live to see the day of first contact.

er.. sorry- did i spook everyone?

anyway, if there are aliens out there, we better hope fervently they`re NOT like us at all,

since if they are, they`ll only turn up to pillage our resources, enslave us or even eat us, since this is precisely the way the human race has behaved exploring new lands for millennia.

if you`re religious, you may want to say a few prayers that when they turn up for real one day, they`ll be nice to us.

cos if not, we`re toast.
