Again if you drop a pea in the sand it makes a bigger crater than at Tunguska as there is no crater, never was

Don't be that person.
I'd imagine the CIA probably knows more than that.
The true key to knowledge is admitting that you do not know, and you do not know what happened at Tunguska, no one does
Quote from: Europa on 22/07/2021 17:16:51 Don't be that person. For example, if you know someone knows- or is more likely to know better than you, say so.Quote from: Bored chemist on 22/07/2021 08:47:11I'd imagine the CIA probably knows more than that. Also try not to get into arguments about telescopes with (A) telescope nuts or(B) people who studied optics at university.Don't simply ignore the laws of physics either.Even if you don't understand what something (for example "diffraction limited") means- look it up rather than pretending that it doesn't matter.Don't ignore simple logic like; it is easier to see something if you are nearer. So you should recognise, for example, the highest orbit camera ever launched is a bad choice for looking at the ground (though it's a better choice for an astronomical telescope). Also, don't turn up somewhere and immediately assume that the guy who has clocked tens of thousands of posts and hundreds of instances of thanks is the idiot- especially when you know that you have no actual evidence for your viewpoint. It's also helpful to check if there are other people- preferable those with good reputations- agreeing with your stance. If you are the only one shouting about something being obviously true, you should probably check your sources. In short; don't be Europa. You just end up looking silly.

I do not know why this event is so hard to accept. Just look at the moon how many of those craters are from green men losing control of their technology.LOL.
The laws of physics say that meteors leave craters.
Ice can not survive entry nor does it explode when heated. Most meteors are metal as the rock does burn up on entry. According to you there can never be a threat of catastrophe like the one rumored to have done away with dinosaurs because meteors explode on entry and will not eject debris into the atmosphere.Oh wait people like you believe whatever is convenient at the moment.Again rocks don't blow up, metal does not blow up and ice does not blow up, just think how dangerous a match at Antarctica would be

What do you think is the difference between seeing an asteroid crossing the sky as opposed to an asteroid coming straight at you.
Quote from: Europa on 22/07/2021 18:50:13Again rocks don't blow up, metal does not blow up They ablate.Under the sort of stressed you get with a meteor hitting the atmosphere they do blow upQuote from: Europa on 22/07/2021 18:50:13ust think how dangerous a match at Antarctica would beIf it was travelling at a few tens of KM/ second it would be dangerous.Quote from: Europa on 22/07/2021 18:50:13According to you there can never be a threat of catastrophe like the one rumored to have done away with dinosaurs because meteors explode on entry and will not eject debris into the atmosphere.Nobody said that. The problem is, as usual with your lack of understanding. In particular you can't understand the word "most" in this clipQuote from: yor_on on 22/07/2021 16:59:33And that's the way most foreign object disintegrates,Quote from: Bored chemist on 22/07/2021 17:42:41In short; don't be Europa. You just end up looking silly.
You obviously have done experiments. Again meteors do not blow up, they burn up, there is a difference
Quote from: Europa on 22/07/2021 19:13:57You obviously have done experiments. Again meteors do not blow up, they burn up, there is a difference No, they can explode due to the angel of attack.
I have never actually heard of an angel attack.
Quote from: Europa on 22/07/2021 19:26:52I have never actually heard of an angel attack. Something to do with the angle of entry. If you shot a rock into water at around the speed of sound it will fragment so what do you think a rock will do when it hits the atmosphere at 50x the speed of sound.
Again meteors do not blow up, they burn up, there is a difference
God my head hurts.
You obviously have done experiments.
And that's the way most foreign object disintegrates, without needing a crater, including our own satellites.
God my head hurts. An angel has wings and fly's around heaven the word you are searching for is actually angle.
