Hi
A month ago i had a bad surprise with my printer Canon: an error message Printhead error! Switch Off!
I switch off but when I switch on again I can't enter in the menu and so I can't neither change the Printhead; in practice I can only call the Service.
I have read too that even if I would change the printhead the problem can stay and burn the new printhead too.
The plotter canon W6200 is already out of warranty and are years that I use only compatible ink cartridges, some of them recharged by me; I know that the service will cost me a lot of money and It wouldn't be advantageous given that the plotter is very old.
If it can help I reassume what appears on the display when I switch on: It appear Initializing and after 15 seconds CANON W6200PG then S:Ver.02.02.02 > E:Ver. 02.01 > CANON W6200PG Wait > Prepar. Print > PrintHead Error! Switch Off!!
I tried to switch off and on but nothing, I tried to take out the cartridge and the paper but nothing, I really don't know what to do to fix the plotter.
Does anyone know what I can do without calling the service?

Definitely SPAM.
3 identically-worded enquires on other forums returned by Google, two definitely as long ago as 28th Sept ("A month ago I had a bad surprise"), and both also feature the same URLs in the sig. As on this forum, at least one of the others is definitely a first-posting of a 'user'.

If the poster is genuine, they won't mind removing the 'sig' with the irrelevant links, will they?
Mods: could we prohibit embedded URLs (ie proper hrefs) for very new users (eg first 10 posts) to discourage this kind of spamming?
Another option is to arrange for "no follow" directives to be added into hrefs so that Google etc won't credit page-rank for links (which is often 50% of the purpose of these spams). On the other hand, the nature of the NakedScientists site is site is such that in the main links mentioned are often well-chosen, and probably deserve any search-engine credit - so this option would detriment many good scientific websites out there which get a mention just to discourage a handful of annoying spammers. [:(!]
To "Tancredi" : I'm sure you can find something better to do with your time. Surely they don't pay you very much for posting irrelevant links on forums, which only annoy and waste the time of the genuine forum-users anyway?

We've already implemented 'no-follow', so spammers won't enhance their online profile here - it doesn't seem to stop them though!
