Title: Can I culture the bacteria in my house?
Post by: colarris on 05/08/2010 15:39:04
I always wanted to test to see what bugs I have around the house, especially my keyboard. I've heard you can use gelatine and petrie dishes to grow cultures but is this wise/safe? Would I be able to ID the bugs from the cultures grow?

I dont know what you would expect to see as it will be mostly fecal coliforms  [:)] you would need more that gelatine I would think though. perhaps think of using diluted vegemite/promite/marmite type products as they contain extracts that should cover most bases of nutrient requirements.
