Why do tsunamis often occur in the Pacific Ocean ?
-
The Pacific is surrounded by active plate margins (also known as the ring of fire). Lots of earthquakes and volcanoes around the rim of the Pacific. With all that bumping and grinding, it's no wonder that tsunamis are common there.
