More bloody European whingeing, just because we are getting back to the heady days of the Roman Empire when the finest wines came from England.

Kent and Sussex whites have won all the prizes for  many years, and we now produce some spectacular rose and even light red wines. Several champagne viticulturists have bought land in the UK and are beginning to regret their appelation controlee as the pinot noir grows best in cool, chalky conditions with long summer days - i.e. places like Kent, Sussex and Suffolk.
