It's often said with some "authority", but can the great wall of china realy be seen from the moon?

I believe that to be a myth. Unless, of course, you take a pair of binoculars with you.

It is most definitely a myth.
The only man made feature that can be seen from the moon on earth without Binoculars is my bird bath.
It is still very hard to see and you may have to squint but if you look carefully...you can just about see it !
