Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Re: Why does hot water sound different to cold water?
« on: 06/10/2021 16:49:52 »
I don't think they they sound different. I just gave it a try and the only difference I can hear is the boiler heating up the water.

Technology / Re: Is there a specific sound frequency that discourages birds?
« on: 06/10/2021 16:48:54 »
Not sure about the frequency, but I would go with the sound of predators. Cats for example. They are natural enemies and I think they are hardwired to fear an ascending cat.

Technology / Re: I'm thinking about inventing a male version of a camel toe pad
« on: 06/10/2021 16:46:58 »
Wow, I never heared of a camel toe pad. I think for men this is not a big issue. Most of them are proud of this region and would love to show it more often.

Question of the Week / Re: QotW - 10.03.28 - Is a human bite worse than a dog bite?
« on: 06/10/2021 16:43:29 »
I got bit by a dog and went to the doctor. He told me that a dog bite is not very dangerous in terms of infections. He said a cats bite us worse and a humans bite is the most dangerous one.

Question of the Week / Re: QotW - 21.10.05 - Why do we sometimes get the same diseases twice?
« on: 06/10/2021 16:39:48 »
I think this has something to do with our immune system. It can learn to defend some bacteria and viruses, but not all of them. After some time the immune system forgets what the attackers looked like and some diseases evolve by time as well.

Question of the Week / Re: QotW - 21.10.9 - Would a dead body in space decompose?
« on: 06/10/2021 16:36:19 »
You would need bacteria to decompose. Since they do not have water to live, you will not decompose.
