do pilots hear the boom when breaking the sound barrier? if they do does it temporary deafen them?

A Sonic boom doesn't happen when you break the speed of sound it is 2 oor more shockwaves produced whenever something is going faster than the speed of sound, because the air can't get out of the way of the front of the plane or join up again at the back fast enough. It is analagous to bow and stern waves on a ship. So the pilot will not get deafened, because the shockwaves don't hit him, and even if they did most of the time he would be sitting at one point on the wave, so it would just feel like the air pressure was different.

Errrr...

Does the breaking of sound barriers not also imply that light, time and matter are also broken.  Therefore the plane has entered another dimension.   So, if he has moved into anothe time continuum, the sound of any air movement suddlenly exploding (kindof like the baloon theory)will be so far behind that he will not hear it because it happened in the past  [::)]  That is how it looks to me anyway.

And then he moves so fast, that he returns to this time again, well, hopefully....  because I have not only watched mirages breaking the sound barrier and witnessed naught but the noise of the jets and the sound of the movement of the air once the barrier was broken......  The plane didn't disappear or anything that I was aware of anyway......

BUT, I have read in National Geographic,at least I seem to remember that it was National Geographic because that is the only magazine I ever read that deals with things like this.... and there was an article about the planes..... Oh no, hang on a minute.... I believe it was actually a Movie about these pilots of a test plane who disappeared in the desert and then re-appeared some years later.....

There are also movies and articles about stealth experiments where the crew and ship being experimented with, simply disappeared..... and have since never re-appeared.  Then again... maybe they did reappear, because otherwise how did the writer get the information to write the movie on.. Hmmmmm

So, it all has to do with bending time.
Speed = time.
Speed = the amount of time it takes to get from point a to point b
but if you bend time by so many degrees, you are going to get a dimensional shift......
This is time travel.....
this is also astral travel.....
this is how one explains dimensions  [:P] [:o]

Do any of you remember this movie.   Wow... I need to see that again because that is very revealing.

No you are thnking of going faster than the speed of light 300 000 000 m/s not the speed of sound 330m/s.

As far as we know going faster than the speed of light is impossible, so it is impossible to know what would happen if you could. However going faster than the speed of sound is done every day by military jets, and until recently concord
