Title: Narcissism, Recovery, Law?
Post by: Titanscape on 24/03/2010 21:34:42
Is Narcissism genetic? How would you define it? Have you met one? How does one recover from them? Are there laws and methods in place to treat them?

Can someone be a psychopath and narcissist at the same time?

I can only answer the later part of your post.  To me, a narcicist is self-centered to the point that everyone exists to serve them and sing their praises.

I think someone could definitely be a psychopath and a narcicist.  I could see a person that is very acheivement driven (to fullfill narcicist needs) and will do anything to get ahead, including often hurting other people in the process (sociopath means).

They learn to lie and manipulate people extremely well.

Agrees.  To get what they want, they would to earn peoples' trust by appearing to have empathy and sympathy for others.
