Title: Is the Sverdlovsk Disk of 1969 of Russian manufacture?
Post by: Expectant_Philosopher on 04/07/2014 17:08:10
In 1969, a disk shaped object was recovered near Sverdlovsk, Russia. The incident became known as Russia's Roswell.  However at the same time the Russians were conducting atmospheric testing involving shock waves in high-temperature collision-less plasmas and their effects on the magnetosphere.  With this information, the disk looks less like an alien spaceship and more like a shockwave inducing device.  The nature of this testing would explain the virtual Russian military and scientific onslaught of the area of the device landing.  Eyewitnesses in the area reported hearing a huge explosive noise coming from the sky during the time of the crash.  The disk was only about 18 inches high/thick not very likely a craft. The YouTube video of the disk shows it half buried in the snow, at an angle that suggests it fell into position with no glide angle. The position of the disk leaning against the thin trees nearby suggests a gentle settling into position rather than a terrific impact.  Such a gentle landing suggests a parachute assisted landing, and it's final angle suggests the parachute snagged in the trees causing the device to tip over on its edge as it settled in the snow.

If it's real (rather than photoshop) maybe a detachable re-entry heat-shield ,
e.g. as seen in the first 5 seconds, and last 8 seconds of this NASA video ...
