Everytime I have a shower where there is a shpwer curtain, why does the shower curtain seem to lean in towards me ?...
I think I know the answer, after all, I'm a sexy guy !!...[:D] ..
...but seriously...is it just a figment of my imagination ?
..it doesn't seem to matter which shower i'm in ie: different hotels etc..the shower curtain always seems to want to join in ....
Why is this ?..is it a heat thing ?..a water thing ? an air pressure thing ?.....a....thing ?
Thanks

Neil - Oh my goodness. I thought that only happened to me. I hate it when that happens. You get all soaped up, and the shower curtain leans in on me. This has just started happening to me in the last few months. It's driving me crazy. I know I have a magnetic personality, but this is ridiculous.

I can totally understand why something would want to get close to you whilst standing in a shower covered in soap suds and i very much doubt it has anything to do with your personality.[;)]
Neil however, well what can i say , he's a funny dude.[:)]

Do you mean strange, in a Dame Edna sort of way, Michael?

I always thought it was static electricity, you know all the rubbing and friction with the soap etc. Then bang your dancing with the shower curtain, and man he dances better then hubby!
You know how you can slide down a plastic slide it tends to attract your hair and shock you. Wouldn't it make almost the same sense that your shower curtain and body friction could do the same thing. It being so light weight and hot.....hmmmmmmmm or maybe it has to do with the hot wet shower and the cooler air forming some kind of reaction, like in a Nimbus Cloud. Sometimes they take the shape of and hour glass or anvil, the sides squeeze in when the warm air meets the very cold air causing rain, thunder and lighting, maybe condensation in this case! Who knows, I am definitely no scientist but is that a possibility?

Dear Girlys,
Please continue to describe your shower adventures with continued use of words and phrases like ' soap bubbles ' , ' friction ' , 'hot wet ', 'squeeze ','soaped up '
Thank You

Seriously though, Carolyn and Karen, Thank you for your responses ( I can't afford to thanks Michael & JimBob as I do not want to encourage them !![;)])...it is a strange phenomena isn't it ?...Those are really good points Karen. I hope we get a scientific point of view..and Carolyn, it's good to know you're not alone in this eh ?..Thanks

Can I suggest that you move this topic to the fetish page?

..as a firm believer in empirical study I am keen to find out if this ' hugging ' effect is specific to one individual or more than one...
...with that in mind I propose a grope..Ooops..sorry a GROUP shower to discover the results.
Yes...yes..I think it would work....in the name of science of course !! [;)]

My shower curtains dont do that :(
the magnets in the corner are stopping them

I have seen the pictures and I think the prevention of cruelty to showers would put a stop to that!

Maybe we should ask Laith what kind of curtains he uses.
It just may be that you and I have cheap shower curtains.[^]
I prefer to think that we're just irresistible.[;)]

Such a shower of static drips! (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.activity4life.com%2Fphoto%2Fyelrotflmao.gif&hash=7e94eff615fdb89d28219dc47e5e7378)

the water in your shower is heating the air in the shower. the air rises and cooler air tries to come in but to fill the vacuum sucking the shower curtain in . Solution: don't close the curtain the whole way and their will be no air temperature differential.

Ah but poor Neil would miss all the attention.

S...THANKYOU VERY MUCH,
amongst the diatribe that surrounds your post [;)] I could sense the answer was really there in the words that you say.
It makes perfect sense.
Finally...finally I have the answer !!..THANK YOU

Ahh very similar to a nimbus cloud, warm air from water rises from bottom and meets the cool air at the top, causing suction, and in comes the sides of the cloud! Or the curtain if you will. Hmmmmmm, very cool!
