Jupiter is by far the largest planet in the Solar System, making it the king of Planets. The Ancient Greeks had absolutely no way of knowing this, yet they named it after the King of the Gods. Jupiter is not thee brightest planet nor the fasted moving planet, so why name THIS one for their King?

The Babylonians named this planet after their god ,Marduk, because they thought he resembled it. Perhaps the Romans stuck to naming this planet with the highest name?
