From a dog's perspective, do human's smell better when sweaty and dirty, or when clean after just stepping out of bath/shower??

Are you thinking of Roald Dahl's 'The Witches', or is it just me?

Dogs use their sense of smell for identification, so I expect they'd feel more comfortable when their owner smelt of themselves rather than of a bar of lavender scented soap. So, I guess dirty ... although perhaps not too dirty!

"Good" would, in this case, mean "likely to give me food or some attention.
It would depend upon what your mutt was used to. If he always got dinner after you came home and had a shower, he would just lurve your showered smell. If you shut him in a cupboard every time you had a shower - he'd hate the smell.
