It must be Dublin, USA

Well, Dang,
I was planning on building and testing a full-size replica of the Tsar Cannon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Cannon) in my back yard.  But, I was having troubles figuring out how to load the 2-ton cannon balls into the barrel.

Perhaps I should put that project on hold too   [???]

Glad to hear that nobody was hurt.  Hopefully they gave the owner of the house (and minivan) an autographed canon ball.

Thankfully nobody was hurt.

It will be interesting to see what the Mythbusters finally decide to air with the episode.  They have stated that their intention is not to air their "goof"...  but who knows.

I'm not sure how big the bomb range is, but it is obvious that they will need to look for more secluded areas for similar tests.

When firing a gun, there are a few rules that one should follow including being able to see everything that is downrange, and having something, preferably a large hill that will stop the bullet.

It sounds like they had some of that.

However, a lot of their equipment that they use would be considered "experimental" equipment which means that one should increase the safety margins quite substantially.

I think that quote was taken a little out of context.

You must have a future in negative advertising in political campaigns, and 10 second sound-bite commercials.

Probably, but it was hard to ignore the irony.

(My wife and I, and our three very young children made a last minute decision not to go to Harrods that day, so I'd hardly describe it as a "sound-bite".)

There was a Mythbusters episode yesterday about shooting cannon balls at cinder blocks.

Not a mention about missing the target.
