Title: What is the extent of human impact on the oceans?

I sometimes wonder how great is the damage humans are causing to the oceans by discharging so many chemicals and excreted drugs into them.

I would welcome the experts' opinions.

bump - this interesting question appears to have been overlooked previously, so I thought I'd revive it for re-consideration...
